What it Takes
In order to be considered eligible, you must:
1. Possess or be able to obtain a secret security clearance.

2. Pass the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) (70% in each event within past 90 days) Pass height/weight standards (within 90 days / 2% under body fat).

3. Applicants must be able to pass a Class 1 Flight Physical.

4. General Test (GT) score of 110 or higher on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).

5. Score a 90 or higher on the Aviation Flight Aptitude Selection Test (AFAST).

6. Be less than 32 yeas when submitting application. This is waiverable.

7. 250 word esay on why you want to be a helicopter pilot.

Why become a Pilot?
1. In the Idaho Army National Guard, you could become a pilot in as little as 2 years.

2. You have the opportunity to fly a multi-engine, multi-million dollar aircraft.

3. You pay nothing for the training. All that we require is your service and possible suport of a deployment.

4. You receive a paycheck every month while at flight school, as well as paid housing.

5. When you return to Idaho, you have the opportunity to fly with some of the best instructor pilots in the world, in some of the best maintained aircraft in the Army inventory.

6. You will have the opportunity to choose a specific career field in aviation, which will allow ou to support the unit.
